Died 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1993, at his Denham Springs residence. He was 65 and a native of Livingston Parish. He was a retired carpenter and member of Local 1098. Visiting was held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Gary Raborn. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge. Survived by wife, Darthie Moss Achord, Denham Springs; two daughters, Beverly Selser and Debra A. Davis, both of Baton Rouge; a stepdaughter, Alice Richardson; a son, Mitchell Achord, Greenwell Springs; three stepsons, William, Jimmy and Sonny Palmer; four brothers, Willie and Huey Achord, both of Baton Rouge, Earl Achord, Watson, and Wilson Achord, Walker; and numerous grand-children. He was a member of Don Avenue Baptist Church, Denham Springs, where he served as deacon. He was a Mason.
