Darrell, affectionately known as "Big D" was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors, and was anticipating the first day of hunting season this year. He had various jobs throughout his life, working at Austin Grocery and was the original co-founder of Austin BBQ with his sister, Denice. Several years later, he sold his part to her, and returned to what he loved, and that was driving a truck.
Burial was at the Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
