Aaron was the seventh of nine children born to George Moore, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Lucas. He married Miss Mary Prather, one of thirteen children born to Thomas S. Prather, Jr. and his first wife, Elizabeth Claggett. In 1769 he relocated to farm in Springhill Township area of Fayette County, Pennsylvania. They had eleven known children.
