Sandy met the love of her life, Norman Cummings, 53 years ago and spent the rest of her life as a devoted wife and mother to her children and many others who considered her "Ma" or "Gramma." Sandy was a kind and caring woman who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. She could be found in the woods helping her husband with the winter fire wood, in the kitchen making potato salad for a family gathering, crocheting an afghan for a fundraiser, or teaching her grandchildren how to play canasta. She was well known for her yeast rolls, finger rolls, gardening skills and listening to her scanner. Sandy loved animals, including her pets, her family's pets and the wildlife around her home.
Mrs. Cummings is survived by her husband, Norman Cummings Sr.; her children, Ozzie Cummings, and his wife, Rachael, Brown Cummings and his wife, Jessica, and Greg Cummings and his wife, Trish; and her grandchildren, Wendy, Randy, Paige and Samantha. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; as well as several nieces and nephews. Sandy was also blessed with a large extended group of people whom she loved and considered her family.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Augusta. (Kennebec Journal 11.28.2013)
