Mary Ann Albert, 75, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 6:15 AM in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.


Mary Ann was born April 1, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan to Arthur and Ida (Stafford) Hicks.

Mary Ann attended and graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute in Jackson, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan University). Then from Ball State University she earned her Master's Degree.


She and Charles W. Albert were married July 3, 1993 in Wabash, Indiana. It was there she taught kindergarten for 27 years with the Wabash City Schools and retired in 1996.


Mary Ann had lived in the Warsaw area for 20 years. She was a member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw. She was also a member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.


With memories to cherish, Mary Ann leaves behind her husband, Charles; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Paul Segsworth of Coeur D'alene, Idaho; Diane and Andrew Beverly, Warsaw; and Julie and Dean Eakright of Wabash; step son and step daughter-in-law: Neal and Nadine Albert of Middlebury, Indiana; 2 step daughters and step sons-in-law: Pamela and Mike Hoover of North Manchester, Indiana; and Julie and Steve Hartig of Clarkston, Michigan; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law: Thelma Story of Magnolia, Texas; Dorothy and Leo Holmes of Pontiac, Michigan; and Ruth and Bob Watson of Howell, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Hicks, and a sister, Becky Marotz.


Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Sunday, December 1st from 2-5 PM in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Monday, December 2nd a service to celebrate the life of Mary Ann Albert will begin at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Rev. Michael Smith of North Winona Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Manchester Church of the Brethren Memorial Garden in North Manchester.
