Kim Goldman, 51, formerly of Wood River, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at his home. He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Gileson City, Ill., to Edward and Genevieve (Pruitt) Goldman. He married the former Rebecca Skelton of East Peirron, Ill. They later divorced. He was first mate on the Julia Woods for Teco Energy Inc. Barge Line of Metropolis, Ill., for 27 years. Survivors include two daughters, Erin Goldman of Alton and Angela Hooten of Belleville; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. and Rhonda Goldman of Wood River; four grandchildren, Matthew Goldman of Wood River, Tyler Bolam of Belleville, Meaghan Goldman of Wood River and Robert Hooten of Belleville; one sister, Karen Butler of Chicago; three brothers, Bryan Goldman of Arizona, Mark Goldman of Wood River and Steve Goldman of Belleville; and a special friend who was good to everyone, Wanda McQuaig of Paducah. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randy Goldman. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River, where the Rev. Gary Steffaniak will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. The American Cancer Society has been named as a memorial.
