Willard A. "Bud" Rose of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center, due to cancer.

He was born January 3, 1920 in Baltimore, MD to the late John G. & Emma Rose; he came here from Baltimore, MD in 1973. He was a pipefitter for Standard Oil in Baltimore, MD and when he came to Lake Wales he worked for Highland Park Country Club. He was of the Protestant faith and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a tail gunner. He was a former member of the V.F.W. in Baltimore and enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Alsace Lorraine Rose in 1991. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Roy (Richard) of Lake Wales; June Rose of Orlando, Shirley Davis (Dwayne) of Orlando and Toni Rose of Jessup, MD; sister, Edna DuVall of Jessup, MD; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
