Son of John Enright and Elizabeth O'Hara. Sometimes listed as Frank Michael, sometimes as Michael Frank.

On Frank Enright’s birth record he was called “Michael F. Enright” born on June 26, 1865. Frank married Margaret “Maggie” F. Burke in 1891. In 1895 Frank’s occupation was listed as “clerk.”

In the 1900 Census M. Frank and Maggie were living next door to M. Frank’s parents. Frank was a clerk in a dry goods store.

Frank and Margaret had 4 children:
• John Francis Enright 1893-1948. He worked at the family business in the meat and grocery store.

• George Edward Enright 1895-1935. He was born in Pittsfield on February 20th. George was married to Agnes Irene Lynch in April 1935. But then we see that he died in September. God bless his poor Agnes.

• Walter Burke Enright 1900-1953. Married on October 1, 1929 to Celia Elizabeth Owens (1904-1986). He had Enright’s Garage at 300 New West Street. They had 3 children:
o Walter Owen Enright (1931-1988) married to Marion J. Pellizzaro. They had 7 children: Thomas A. Enright (1953-2007), Michael W. Enright, Timothy P. Enright, Patricia A. Enright, Peter J. Enright, John P. Enright, and Christine A. Enright (died as a child 1953).
o Virginia Elizabeth Enright (McDonald) married William McDonald and had 5 children: Kathleen M. McDonald, Kevin William McDonald, Karen A. McDonald, Kelly P. McDonald, Margaret M. McDonald.
o Charles “Chuck” Francis Enright married Anne Dery. They had 4 sons: Walter Enright, Patrick Enright, Mark Enright, and Matthew Enright.

• Margaret Anna Enright born June 14, 1903-died 1972.

M. Frank Enright died in 1907 of “acute bronco pneumonia” at home 296 West Street. Listed as “Michael Frank” in death record, occupation was “clerk.”

He died on the very same day and year that his brother John Henry Enright’s son was born, my father John R. Enright. A sad bitter/sweet day for the Enrights indeed.

OBIT – M. FRANK ENRIGHT Berkshire Eagle July 29, 1907:
“M. Frank Enright, 40, died last night at his home 196 West Street. He has been ill since last April but it was thought he was recovering until a few days ago when pneumonia developed and owing to his weakened condition he was unable to stand the attack.

“Mr. Enright had spent the greater portion of his life in this city. After finishing his studies in the public schools of this city he entered the employment of Johnson & Bailey, who enducted [sic] the store now operated by Holden & Stone. He has served as clerk in that store continuously from 1882. He had charge of the dress silks department during the greater portion of the time he was employed there.

“He is survived by a widow, three sons, and one daughter. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Enright also survive him, as do four brothers, Thomas N., John H., James E., and Joseph A., and three sisters, Misses Mary E., Sarah S., of this city and Mrs. John P. Casey of New Haven, Conn. The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed, but it will probably be held Wednesday morning from St. Joseph’s Church.”

According to the 1904 Pittsfield School Census, Frank’s kids went to public school.

In the 1920 Census 50 year old Maggie Enright was the owner of a grocery store in which her three sons worked.
In the 1928 City Directory Maggie Enright had the store at 306 New West Street which sold “groceries, provisions, confectionery, cigars, etc.”

In 1930 U.S. Census the widow Margaret Burke Enright is the owner of her house at 299 West Street worth $50,000, plus she is the proprietor of a meat and grocery store. Her unmarried sons, John and George, are managers of the store. Her daughter, Margaret, is living at home also.

In the 1935 City Directory we see the family store listed as “Enright Package Store, prop. Mrs. Margaret Enright.”

In the 1943 City Directory there is a large typed ad for “ENRIGHT’S PACKAGE STORE, INC. John F. Enright and Margaret A. Enright, props., 308 New West. But there is also still in operation next door at 306 New West Street the Enright “meats, groceries and provisions confectionery, cigars, etc. John F. Enright (& Rosemary A.)” living at 313 West Street.

In 1948 there was a Walter B. Enright’s ad for ENRIGHT’S MOTOR SALES in the City Directory.
