Mrs. Nellie Frances Browning, 71, 2612 Main St., wife of Charles William Browning, died at 12:40 pm Sunday at St. John's Hospital. She suffered a stroke on March 26.

Mrs. Browning was born Aug 19, 1890, in Paris, Ky., and was the daughter of Thomas M. and Julia Ann Jones Tobin.

She had resided in Anderson for 19 years, coming here from Paris, Ky. Her husband is a retired employee of Plant 11 of the Delco-Remy Division.

Mrs. Browning was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Surviving are: the husband; three sons, Carlton W. Browning, Paris, Ky., and Paul and George Browning, both of Anderson; five daughters, Mrs. Maude Frances Schewe, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Carol Franklin and Mrs. Helen See, both of Daleville, and Mrs. Martha Hinkle and Mrs. Ann Etchison, both of Anderson; 28 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Will Tobin, Paris, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Maude Boyle, Paris, Ky., and several nephews and nieces.

Friends will be received after 7 pm today at the Brown and Butz Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 9 am Wednesday at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Heilman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at 7:50 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
