Mrs. Betty Jo House, age 77, of Ratcliff, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the ICU at Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was born May 25, 1936 in Duncanville, Alabama and was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in 1954. Mrs. House was a resident of Ratcliff since 1985 and was very active in the Ratcliff Senior Citizens Center. She was also an active member of the Ratcliff Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher teaching Bible studies and leading in Vacation Bible school activities and was a past member of the Spring Baptist Church in Spring. Mrs. House was retired having worked as a secretary for Baker Hughes and was a past member of the Spring Baptist Church in Spring. She loved gardening, cooking, bird watching and she loved her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Joe House, Sr. of Ratcliff; sons, Joe E. House, Jr. and wife, Christi L. of Springtown Texas, and David C. House and wife, Stephanie of Houston Texas; granddaughter, Gabrielle R. House; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and dear friends.

Betty, the youngest of 8, was preceded in death by her parents: James L. and Mary Ray Albright; Betty's four brothers: James Louis, Jr. and sister-in-law Gloria Albright, Archie H. "Bish" Albright, Charles W. and sister-in-law Mildred Albright, and Walter E. "Gene" and sister-in-law Marie Albright and 3 sisters: Mary Etta Coker, Imogene Harley, and Gwendolyn Albright.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo House will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Ratcliff Baptist Church (18436 State Highway 7 Kennnard, Tx 75847) with Bro. Dennis Morgan officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park (13747 Eastex Freeway {HWY 59} Houston, Tx 77039). Family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 12 noon until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ratcliff Senior Citizens Center Fund.
