Obituary

Julious L. Smith, 83, of Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24 from 1:00 to 2:00 at Leak-Memory Chapel with graveside services to follow at 2:00 at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Jay L. Wolf officiating. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Martha Jo Jones Smith and his parents, John Philman (Phil) Smith and Meadie Sansom Smith of Clanton, Alabama. He was known for his love of God, family, music, and sports, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Boston Red Sox. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is survived by one son, Mark Smith of Montgomery, Alabama; a loving daughter-in-law, Lisa Smith of Montgomery, Alabama; one daughter, Julie Smith of Montgomery, Alabama; one brother, Johnny (Faye) Smith of Clanton, Alabama; one sister, Inez (Benny) Clark of Clanton, Alabama; three grandchildren – Kacie Puckett, Austin Smith, and Brooke Smith, all of Montgomery, Alabama; one great-grandchild – Laiken Grace of Montgomery, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful service and support during his lengthy illness.
