Eliza was the daughter of Archibald and Emily (Haines) Elson. In July of 1866 in Benton County, Iowa, Eliza married David Cantonwine, son of Michael and Catherine (Myers/Myres) Cantonwine and grandson of Charles and Mary Magdalena (Scholl) Cantonwine.
