Eldee Buhite, 94, of Portland died Oct. 3.
He and sister, L.C., were born in Salem. He moved to Portland from Scio in 1923.
In 1939, he married Hazel Osterhoudt.
After working at several Portland furniture factories, he operated Milwaukie Furniture and Upholstering Co. for 25 years. He worked from his Portland home after retirement.
He was a member of Sons and Daughter of the Oregon Pioneers, as great-grandson of 1852 Scio pioneer John Gaines.
Survivors include sons Edwin and Monte and five grandchildren.
Remembrances can be made to the Salvation Army Rose Center.
There will be a graveside memorial service at Providence Cemetery in Scio, date to be announced.
