She was born August 20, 1929, in Forsyth County to the late George Lowell and Geneva Simmons Hutcherson. Mrs. Waddell attended Mineral Springs High School. She was an active supporter of the YMCA and a member of the Winston-Salem Wall Streeters Investment Club.
Surviving her is her husband of 53 years, Travis E. Waddell of the home; one son, Terry W. Waddell and wife Sherrie of Gibsonville; two granddaughters, Alexandria and Cortlandt; five brothers, Vic Hutcherson of Rural Hall, Don Hutcherson of Winston-Salem, Joe Hutcherson of Rural Hall, Mike Hutcherson of Dobson, and Larry Starling of Clemmons; four sisters, Genene Watson of Winston-Salem, Judy Smith and Linda Parker of Rural Hall, Sharron Unser of Charleston, SC.; one brother-in-law, Gray Waddell and his wife Bobbie of Winston-Salem; one special brother-in-law, Jimmie Waddell and wife Jan of Winston-Salem; and a sister-in-law, Mazie Griffin and husband Ray of Mocksville. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, G.L. and Phil Hutcherson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at Forsyth Memorial Park by Dr.Zeb E. Barnhardt, Diaconal.
