Mrs. Gladys C. Conner age 93, of Waynesville, passed away October 27, 2013 at MedWest Haywood. She was born in Haywood County to the late Andrew Edward and Mattie Howell Caldwell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Conner; daughter Henrietta Conner; brothers Delmas, Elwood, Edwin Caldwell; sisters Edna C. Hill and Hillis C. Hawkins. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved flower gardening and being around people and was known for making the best biscuits. Survivors include her sons Allen "Bud" Conner, Gerald "Punk" Conner, both of Waynesville; many nephews, nieces and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11 AM in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Plott Creek Cemetery.
