Betty Jo Mincher was the young daughter of William Ben "Bill" & Grace "Gracie" Carolee (Horath) Mincher. Betty Jo was born around 1928 in Caney,Oklahoma in Atoka County at the old land company place the Mincher Family lived on in Caney. Leonard Mincher, her little older brother, told me that Betty Jo was between 1 or 2 years old at the time of her passing and that he was around 4 years old when his baby sister passed away around 1930. He said that his baby sister had gotten really sick and his parents sent for the doctor to come to their home. Dr. told them that she had acute appendicitis & in those days there was little hope to save anyone form this condition. She passed away at their family home there in the country outside of Caney. Leonard said that she was laid to rest in the Folsome Cemetery & to his knowledge his baby sister never got a headstone. Leonard also told me when his Daddy passed his Momma had their Daddy buried next to her beloved baby girl, Betty Jo, there at the Folsom. Leonard said that his Daddy never got a headstone either. He also told me that their graves are located near the very back of the cemtery there. Betty Jo siblings were Leonard Carolee, Birdine, Virgil Leroy, Odell, William Ben & John Mincher.
