Family tradition is that he was born in Rutherford Cty NC which was Tryon Cty NC then.
There is no known record nor bible.
There is no known picture of solomon. We have pix of some of his sons who look alike.
His parents had moved from Albemarle Parish, Va. to Rowan Cty NC. to Old Tryon.
Only one document has been found there that said his father William RASONS had done land improvements in Tryon.
Nothing else.
Solomon arrived in Alleghany Cy NC (then Ashe) after the Rev War ca 1795.
He followed his brothers John and Robert to the area.
Solomon ca 1796 married Lydia Sturgill, a local Rev War soldier's daughter.
Lydia and Solomon made their first home on a farm on the New River at Grassy Creek.
In 1813, they bought a farm from Old John Hash and 2nd wife wife Docia Sturgill that was located on Potato Creek in Ashe County, [now Piney Creek, Alleghany County] NC.
They lived the remainder of their lives there and are buried in the family cemetery on this farm.
There is a picture of his cabin.
He died in 1860 just after this part of Ashe had became Alleghany.
His children are listed with Lydia.
Living children only are named in 3/28/1862 document: Alleghany Cty NC Record of deeds Book A.
Census records start at 1810 Ashe.
