License obtained 7/20/1850 with bondsman 8/20/1850 Lewis aka Lazarus Hash (an inlaw) and McCoy Anderson (married to Alsy Ann Phipps), Henry J Parsons (an inlaw) and Solomon Parsons (her dad, in law or brother?)
2 1865 James/Joseph Wesley KEGLEY, 7-9 years younger. On a court document in Alleghany it says he left the country.
Never heard from again.
Mary had no children with him.
He is mainly known as James Wesley Kegley aka Wes Kegley
Died 12/18/1861 in Piney Creek, Alleghy Cty NC
She is buried with her brother James Parsons in what was his Parsons family cemetery.
This cemetery was later donated to form the nucleus of the Piney Creek Methodist Cemetery.
It was known as the "Old Parsons Cemetery".

Sister Mary Kegley, whose maiden name was Parsons, was born 6/12/1827, died Feb 8, 1913, age 85 years, 7 months and 29 days.
Professed a hope in Christ in 1875 but never joined any church, for some cause best known to herself.
She was married to Josiah Halsey, unto this union was born 5 children 4 sons and one daughter, who proceeded her to Glory Land.
After Mr Halsey's death, was married to Elder J W Kegley, March 20, 1865.
She was a pious Christian, loved by all who knew here.
She was a kind mother and good companion.
"How Firm a Foundation" was her favorite song.
She leaves a husband and 4 children.
She was buried at Piney Creek Church
Burial services was conducted by Elder W H Handy
"A dear one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A chair is vacant in our home
Which can never be filled."
