Tressie Tyson, 84, of 1117 W. Louise died Monday at a local hospital. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Tyson was born Feb. 2, 1897, in Kent, Neb., the daughter of Salthiel and Mary King Dutton. She grew up in the Taylor-Burwell area and attended schools in Kent. On March 29, 1922, she married Harry Tyson at Brewster, Neb. They lived in the Broken bow area before moving to Grand Island in 1951. Mr. Tyson died in 1976.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Roxie Jones and Mrs. Leola Carlson, both of Grand Island, Mrs. Sue Campbell of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Ila Mae Scherer of Central City and Mrs. Helen Weiss of Aurora; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Leona Noble of Hastings, and two brothers, Dewey Dutton of Hastings and Acil Dutton of Columbia City, Ore. She was preceded in death by two sons and three grandchildren.
