Calvin B. Reeves, 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Thursday, November 14, 2013.

Calvin was born in Tyler, Texas on August 11, 1926 to Harry S. and Grace (Faglie) Reeves. He grew up in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1944. He attended Baylor University, where he received a Bachelor's degree, and went on to receive a Baylor degree of Law. On August 24, 1951 he married Jeannine Bell they made their home originally in Waco, then to Fort Worth, Midland, Dallas and then to Palmer in 1960 . He served his country proudly in the United State Marine Corp during WWII.

He served as General Council for the Baptist Foundation of Texas for over Thirty years. He was a Deacon for Tabernacle Baptist Church, was a member of the Ennis Lions Club, was on the Board of Directors for the Ennis Golden Circle and served on the Ellis County Appraisal Board. He enjoyed working in his pecan orchard, reading, amateur geologist and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons: Robin Reeves of Palmer and his wife, Teresa and Rustin Reeves and his wife, Sandra of Allen; four grandchildren: Rhett Reeves, Brock Reeves, Kristin Santamaria and Kyle Reeves; one brother, Irvin Reeves of Houston, one sister, Billie Purvis of Waco along with numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Bettye Moore.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeannine Reeves on December 9, 2004 and two sisters, Edna Reeves and Leta Federwisch.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis with Rev. Todd Gray officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of your choice in Calvin's name.
