John Moon was a soldier in The War of 1812, and was with Gen. Jackson, at the Battle of New Orleans. He was a son of John and Mary (Horn) Moon.

There is no tombstone or marker to mark his grave.

John Moon married (1) Mary "Polly" Lewis October 17, 1811 in Madison County, Alabama. He married (2) Hester Moon August 03, 1820 in Madison County Alabama. Hester Moon, Moon was the daughter of Joseph Moon born 1776 PA died 1867 Alabama.
