Joe Lloyd Edwards, 65, of Smiths Grove died at 7 p.m. Sept. 2, 2004, at his home.

The Warren County native was a farmer and a Baptist. He was a son of the late Walker Thomas Edwards and Anna Madison Edwards. He was preceded in death by two sisters, June Lang and Louetta Douglas; and a brother, Terry Edwards. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove chapel, with burial in Hays Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Betty L. Gilmer, 61, of Smiths Grove died at 5:50 a.m., July 29, 2009 at
her residence after a long and brave battle with cancer.
The Warren County native was born March 7, 1948 and she worked for
years as as loving caregiver and a neighbor that always had time to help
anyone that needed it. She attended North Warren High School and grad-
uated from Bowling Green High. She was a member of the Baptist faith
and loved the Lord. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. She
loved being outdoors and working in her yard. She was known for her quick
wit, beautiful smile and those lovely “Edwards” blue eyes. She was the
daughter of the late Walker T. Edwards and Anna “Madison” Edwards. She
was preceded in death by her sisters, June Lang and Jean “Deanie” Douglas
and her brothers, Joe and Terry Edwards. She was the wife of the late
Carroll D. Gilmer.
Graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Hays Cemetery
with burial in Hays Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
