James A. Thompson died at his home in Cadwell (Illinois) Wednesday after a lingering illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Arthur (Illinois) at 10 o'clock Friday, Rev. Mr. Berry officiating. Burial was in the Arthur cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born March 15, 1852 in Grove township, Jasper county (Illinois). The immediate relatives surviving are his widow. Mrs. Annie Thompson (Nisey Anna Lake), a son Ernest Thompson of Lawrenceburg (Indiana), a daughter Mrs. Turner Burnett (Gladys Thompson-Burnett), of Sullivan (Illinois), brothers George Thompson of Toledo (Illinois), Mel Thompson of Arthur (Illinois), William Thompson of Keardon (Illinois), Lou Thompson of Arthur (Illinois), Charles Thompson of Morton (IIlinois) and one sister Mrs. Emanuel Riggins (Rosaline Thompson-Riggins) of Phoenix (Arizona) one stepson Robert Stuckover (William Robert Stuckover) of Indianapolis, Indiana and one granddaughter Mabel Burnett of Sullivan (Illinois). The flower girls were Mrs. Ernest Thompson of Arthur (Illinois), Mrs. Clyde Dearduff of Tuscola (Illinois), Mrs. Quince McDonald of Arthur (Illinois), Miss Laura Thompson, Miss Florence Thompson and Miss Gayles Thompson of Arthur (Illinois).
