COALPORT — HEWITT – Kenneth J. "Kink," 82, Rosebud R.D., Coalport, died Aug. 11, 2013, at home.

Born March 13, 1931, in Coalport R.D., son of the late Charles R. and Rachel (Henwood) Hewitt.

Preceded in death by first wife, the former Doris Jean Morrison, on June 8, 2002; brothers, Harry (killed in World War II), Alvin, William, Charles and Edward; and sisters, Geraldine Toner, Winifred Cusick, Phyllis Jean Gabrielson, Dora Kline and Margaret Wayne.

Survived by wife, the former Doris Jane Lindenmuth Skirsky, whom he married June 12, 2004, in Coalport; stepchildren, Lois Lehmier (David), Stafford, Va.; Janice Hawk, Carrolltown; Linda Skirsky, Ebensburg; and Thomas Skirsky (Melissa), Spotsylvania, Va.; seven step-grandchildren; and one step great-grandson.

He was the last member of his immediate family.

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Kink enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodcraft and traveling. He worked as a purchasing agent for Benjamin Coal Mines and as a safety director for Douglas Explosives. Former Shriner at Altoona.

Member of Masonic Lodge 574, Coalport, where he was a past master in 1983; Holmes Safety Association, Clearfield Chapter, where he served as treasurer and president; and Chetremon Golf Club, Cherry Tree.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coalport Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Roland Emond, officiating. Committal, Fairview Cemetery, LaJose R.D.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to American Heart Association or a local Humane Society in Kink's memory.
