Her father moved to Dallas Co Iowa ca 1862, and to Colorado City, Colorado (now part of Colorado Springs) in 1865. On 27 July 1869 she married James Marshall Tappan, and is with him in Colorado City in 1870. They had no children and divorced before 1880, when she is running Tappan house in Leadville Colorado, a rooming and boarding house. At some point she was an itinerate salesman in the West, driving a team and wagon from town to town. In 1899 she married William J Farleigh in Colville Washington. In 1890 she was living in Seattle, in 1911 she visited family in Michigan, in 1913 she wrote from St Petersburg Florida. The 1920 census lists her in the county poor farm in LA, with a birthplace of Florida! The crematory has no records for the month of her death, but probably buried on the grounds of the crematory.
