AVON - Norbert F. Kloc, 72, of Avon and formerly of Avon Lake, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, at St. John Medical Center, Westlake, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mr. Kloc was born March 28, 1941, in Chicago, IL, and was a graduate of Loyola Academy High School in Chicago.

Mr. Kloc then graduated from John Carroll University, University Heights, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was a proud alumnus.

He put his education to work with Equifax Services, Cleveland, where he worked for 28 years retiring as a general manager. Following retirement, Norbert began a second career as a regional human resource director with Best Buy, Ohio where he worked for 12 years.

Mr. Kloc was a devout Catholic, attending Mass daily and especially enjoyed Mass at St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake and Holy Trinity Church, Avon. He was a member of the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club and also served on the Avon Lake Board of Education. He was active in community sports as a coach with Catholic Youth Organization Basketball and the Avon Lake Youth Baseball Federation. He enjoyed golf and was a member with his wife of the Aqua Marine Couples League. He also enjoyed bowling and cooking, and was a staunch supporter of his grandchildren, attending their activities.

Mr. Kloc is survived by his children, Laura Kloc of Avon, Jacqueline (John) Beer of Avon Lake and Christopher (Stacy) Kloc of Gibsonia, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Abby, Brett, Mallory, Alaina and Jillian; and sister, Emily Kloc of Avon Lake.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Sheila (nee Schweitzer); and parents, Francis J. and Emily M. (nee Gucwa).

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake on Tuesday, November 12, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm. A prayer service will be at the funeral home, Wednesday at 9:15am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd., Avon Lake at 10:00am. Fr. James Becherer, Retired will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
