Vercil C. McQueen, 68, R.R.1, Rushville, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 1985, in the Veterans' Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been seriously ill for some time.

McQueen was born March 30, 1917, in Kentucky, the son of Robert and Laura Howard McQueen. He retired in 1984 after 20 years as a self-employed carpenter. He lived in Decatur County near Clarksburg in the 1970's. He was an army veteran of World War II, and served overseas.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lucille Beane McQueen; four sons, Terry A. McQueen, Hopewell, Va., Dennis K. McQueen, Laurel, Dwight C. McQueen, Connersville and Miles E. McQueen, at home; three daughters, Mrs.Roger (Sharon) Roberson, Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Robert (Pamela) Bauler, Cincinnati and Miss Cynthia McQueen, at home; six brothers, Everett McQueen, rural Laurel, Howard McQueen, Indianapolis, Orice McQueen, Hamilton, Ohio, Delbert McQueen, Laurel; Albert McQueen, Connersville and Hayden McQueen, Cambridge City; two sisters, Mrs. David (Mabel) Hofer, Cincinnati, and Mrs. Marian Rinehart, Cambridge City; and 10 grandchildren.

Two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with the Rev. James Ward officiating. Burial will be in Stipps Hill Cemetery in Franklin County.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
