Howard was born Dec. 17, 1918 in Taft, KY the son of the late Robert & Laura (Howard) McQueen. He married Viola Ruth Borem June 29, 1940 and she died Jan. 26, 1999. He was a carpenter his entire life, working in many facets of the construction industry.
He served honorably as a sergeant in the Army from 1944 to 1946 during WWII. He was a member of the carpenters union throughout his life as well as a member of the VFW. He had been a Mason over 70 years and was a member of the Greensburg Lodge F & AM #36. He had attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville in the past.
His surviving family includes one son William Michael (Deborah) McQueen of Connersville, IN; two daughters, Beverly (Dale) Baldwin of Mooresville, IN & Donna (Roberto) Urdanivia of Garden Grove, CA; one brother Hayden (Peggy) McQueen of Pershing, IN; one sister Mabel Hofer of Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Zola, Pearl & Marian; brothers Vercil, Orice, Delbert, Albert & Everett.
A Celebration of Life and Military Honors will be 11:00 AM Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Pastor Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
