Mr. Allen was born in Gulfport and had been a resident of Cumming for sixteen years. He was a Catholic. Mr. Allen retired from Bell South and was a former member of the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, representing Beat 4.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Allen; his mother, Agnes Hatem Allen; two sisters, Frances Jarrett and Loretta Allen; and a brother, Jimmy Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Mims Allen of Cumming; three daughters, Ellen Allen of Atlanta, Elizabeth Pierce of Gulfport and Debra (John) Godber of Saucier; a sister, Mary Margaret Peterson; five brothers, Louis, Harold, Gary, Ronald, and Robert; and three grandchildre, Brittany Tinsley, John Godber, Jr., and Amy Godber.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. Gulfport, where friends my visit one hour before the service. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
