Alouis Charles (Louie) Klein, 84, of Kerrville died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, in a Kerrville nursing home.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with the Rev. Douglas McBride officiating.
Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Klein was born Oct. 11, 1921, at Tivydale, the son of William Klein and Bertha Roeder Klein. On Dec. 4, 1942, he married Lucille L. Grona in Dallas. She preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 2000.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a rest area supervisor for the Texas Highway Department from March 1, 1970, to Feb. 29, 1984. He was also a
member of Zion Lutheran Church of Kerrville.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Behnsch of Pearsall; sisters, Ella Klein of Center Point, Hilda Tatsch and her husband, Harold, and Linda Klein, all of Fredericksburg; a brother, Felix Klein and his wife, Adeline, of Kerrville; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Klein, in March 2004.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
His grandsons served as pallbearers. Lucke Mains and Melvin Arnecke were honorary pallbearers.
