Son of Freegrace Adams and Anna Kent.
Both died in Windham County, VT.

Eliphalet moved in early manhood with
his parents (circa 1773) to Marlboro, VT.
On Dec. 20, 1778 he married Patience Rice (1753-1832) and soon after settled in Cambridge Washington County, NY.

After a fire in the winter of 1798-99 where he lost his house and belongings, he moved to Lower Canada (i.e. Quebec) to Westbury township, northeast of present-day Sherbrooke, on the banks of the St. Francis River. Here he acquired a large tract of land. He joined the Methodist church there. It is said that after clearing land and building dwellings he discovered he was on someone else's property. Prolonged negotiations were unsuccessful so was persuaded by his older sons living in Ontario to move there. In 1829 he, with his wife and youngest son, moved to Esquesing township to be joined by other family members.
By 1811 he had lost four children, two
of whom drowned in the St. Francis River,
but seven remained.
Soon after his move to Ontario, he lost
his wife and youngest son.
He was in his 89th year when he died there
July 2, 1844 and was buried in the family

married Joseph H. Kilborne (1771-1814)
native of CT, s/o Benjamin Kilborne
and Lucy Bishop, on Feb. 17, 1805 in
Quebec. They had four children: (2 sons
and 2 daughters). Phoebe died in Okemos,
Ingram County, MI where she had lived
with her son.

(3) Rufus (June 11,1783-May 6,1856)
married Maria Hubbard (1786-1867/8) and
had six children: 4 sons and 2 daughters.

(4) Vincent (Mar. 11, 1785-1800) drowned
in the St. Francis River, Quebec.

(5) Lucinda (Jan. 11, 1787-1800) also
drowned in the St. Francis River.

(6) Ezra (July 17, 1788-Dec. 1, 1871)
was married three times: first to Isa
Proctor and they had seven children
(4 sons and 3 daughters); second to
Amy (Edmonds) Curtis and they had three
children (1 son and 2 daughters); and
third to Elizabeth "Betsy" (Edmonds)
Griffin, sister of Amy. Ezra and his
first two wives are buried in Drayton
Pioneer Cemetery.

(7) Electra (May 31, 1790-before 1835)
married Thomas Ebbage (1789-Nov.8,1857)
a sea captain (no info as to children).

married Ruth Fellows (Apr. 7, 1800-Dec. 4,
1864) on June 19, 1826). They had 11
children: 4 sons and 7 daughters.

died in NY state.
