He was born Apr 29, 1917, in Sedalia, a son of Thomas Wilford and Della May Hart Griffith. In 1939, he married Esther Brinkoetter who preceded him in death. In 1970 he married Ruth Cowger who died in 1990.
Mr Griffith was raised and educated in Sedalia and worked as a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier until his retirement several years ago. He served as a medic in the Army in North Africa, China, Burma and India during World War II, and received several commendations including two Bronze Stars. He was a member of American Legion Post 642.
Survivors include a son, Thomas W Griffith of West Jordan, UT; a daughter, Diane Heimsoth of Concordia; and four grandchildren.
The body was donated to the University of Missouri Anatomical Board.
