CHERRYVILLE Mrs. Vevette Wehunt Arthur, 97, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Arthur was born in Lincoln County on September 6, 1916 a daughter of the late John Calvin Wehunt and Ocie Lackey Wehunt. She was a member of North Brook Baptist Church, the WMU and a former Sunday School teacher for the Senior Adult class. Mrs. Arthur was retired from North Brook #3 School as a teacher and Principal.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Arthur Sr. and son, Harry Arthur Jr.
Survivors include a son, John T. Arthur of Cherryville; two daughters, Judy A. Willis of Lawndale and Betsy A. Chapman of Sherrills Ford; five grandchildren, Buddy, Dustin, J.T. and Jeff Arthur and Kim Carroll; six great grandchildren, Grayson and Morgan Carroll, Anna Knight and Dylan, Loki and Ashton Arthur.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at North Brook Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Wise and Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church. Burial will be private.
