Dorothy A. Jacobs, 101, entered into rest at 6:11 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her granddaughter’s home. She was the wife of the late Clarence G. Jacobs. They were married 80 years.

Born September 22, 1914 in York, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Howard and Emma (Ness) Malehorn.

She was a homemaker and had attended York Gospel Center. She enjoyed reading, flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and in her younger years, gardening and sewing.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Gordon Jacobs and wife, Melody of Great Falls, MT; daughter-in-law, Lois Jacobs of Dover; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and a sister, Beulah Moul of New Oxford. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Jacobs; a daughter, Gloria Crane; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy’s funeral at 10:30 a.m. and the viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Pastor Jay Frey of New Path Community Church in Mount Joy.
