John is the son of Dr. John Calvin and Mattie Preshia Robertson Moore. Raised in Gibson Co., TN surrounded by lot's of extended family, John had 4 brothers and 1 sister. They are:
Cecil Albert Moore 1879 – 1968
William Leslie Moore 1883 – 1972
R D Moore 1889 – 1909
Linden E Moore 1892 – 1914
Ouida Anne Moore 1899 – 1985
On 27 Jun 1910, John married Grace Alden Phillips in Wilson Co., TN.
In 1918, when John registered for the draft, he was a medical student at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. He was 32 at that time. He would complete his education and become a physician at which time he moved his family to Marion Co., Florida. There, John and Grace raised 3 sons to my knowledge and they are:
John Phillips Moore M.D. 1911 – 1996
James Thomas Moore 1914 – 1986
Samuel Barbee Moore 1931 – 2008
His wife Grace preceded him by about 6 years and they are laid to rest together. John is my 1st cousin, 2x rem.
