Robert Frank "Bob" Novotny Robert Frank "Bob" Novotny, 72, was a lifelong resident of Fox River Valley Gardens. Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Diane. He was the loving father of Sheila (Lee Wellner), Ray (Colleen) and Ron (Diane Hawkins); cherished grandfather of Amanda, Michelle, Madison and the late Brittany; dear brother of Allen (Diane) and Bev; and loving son of the late Frank and Mildred. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Bob was born July 21, 1938, in Chicago, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the Pepper Family Hospice in Barrington. Bob enjoyed playing chess, card games, family and friend get-togethers, which always included food, drinks and a bonfire to ensure everyone had a "big night." Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 12, with prayers starting at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to Transfiguration Parish, 348 W. Mill St., Wauconda, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, www.hospiceanswers.org.
