Joseph was born on November 25th 1925 in Burlington, Vt., he was the son of Michael and Philomena (Perotta) Albarelli.
Joseph grew up on Cherry Street in Burlington, Vt., also affectionately known as "Little Italy."
He graduated from Cathedral High School in absentia in 1944, as he was drafted before the end of the school year (his brother, Louie, accepted his diploma for him).
He served in World War II overseas in Patton's Third Army until the end of the war, then served in the constabulary in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, and the Eastern African and Middle Eastern Theatre campaign ribbon.
Joseph began his career at Green Mountain Power when they were in the gas business.
When they sold the gas portion of Green Mountain Power to Vermont Gas Systems, Joseph was hired by Vermont Gas.
Joseph took advantage of the GI Bill to earn a degree in engineering. This helped him to rise in the ranks at Vermont Gas Systems.
He retired from Vermont Gas Systems after 42 years, as Vice President.
Joseph was married to Carlotta (Corey) Albarelli in Burlington. Together, they raised 10 children.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Philomena Albarelli; his wife, Carlotta, in 1985; son, John, in 1994; his second wife, Mary (Clark Cochones) Albarelli, in 1999; and six brothers, Patrick Alberry, Tony, Henry, John, Philip, and Louis Albarelli.
