Harmon D. White, 59, of Route 3, Box 187, Bluefield, died Saturday, May 15, 1976, in a Richlands hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Born on February 9, 1917 in Raven, Va., he was a son of the late Carl Richard and Mary I. Turner White, a member of the Bramwell Baptist Church and a resident of Bluewell for one year, having come from Chicago, IL.
He was a retired miner and a member of the UMWA. He was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret V. Williams White of Bluewell; one son, Donald White of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy (Brenda) Bateman of Mann, Mrs. Dean (Jackie) Leger of Chicago; four sisters, Mrs. Forrest (Carl) Allen and Mrs. Harold (Irma) Jones, both of Freeman and Mrs. Donald (Dosca) Kirk and Mrs. Graham (Toots) Talley, both of Double Gates, Bluefield, Va.; one brother, Bobby Turner of Freeman and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cravens-Shires Fuenral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Bill Baker and Rev. Arden Dean officiating.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with pallbearers: Richard Baugh, Don Stotts, Don Kirk, Eddie Kirk, Sammy Jones, and Bobby Lee Jones.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m.
