Letha Ann Baker, 92, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003, in a local hospital.

She was a native of Tracy City, Tennessee, but had lived in Chattanooga for over 50 years. Mrs. Baker was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by five children, Ellie May Layne, George Van Hooser, Ruth Lockhart, Gene Van Hooser, and Larry Nyne Baker, and three grandchildren, Nelson Lockhart, Bruce Van Hooser, and Connie Baker, and parents, John D. and Myrtle Dyke Layne.

Survivors are six grandchildren, Gary Van Hooser, Hixson, Tenn., Clayton Lockhart, Tracy City, Tenn., Tony Lockhart, Chattanooga, Bonnie Johnson, Ringgold, Ronnie Baker, Chattanooga, and Johnnie Gunter, Ooltewah; brothers, Ernest Layne, Alfred Layne, and Billy Layne, all of Tracy City; sisters, Lily Lockhart, Tracy City, and Belle Doorman, Melbourne, Fla.; several great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Chapman officiating.

Interment is in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
