Frank worked as a diesel technician for Foley Equipment Company for 15 years. He previously worked 20 years for Western Auto.
He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus and served on the Diesel Advisory Board at Salina Tech. He enjoyed camping and being with family and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tony. Survivors included his wife, Elena; sons, Frank Thelen IV, Sam and Andy Thelen; daughter, Mary Kay Talley; brother, Dennis Thelen; sisters, Mary Lou Thelen and Ann Hunter; grandchildren, Braxton and Kenzie Talley; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with private inurnment at a later date.
