"Roland Sparks,

Diptheria is still lingering in this vicinity. Mr. O. C. Langland has lost three bright little boys by it within a week, two of them dying only a few hours apart.

Old settlers say they never saw so many deaths here in so short a time, there have been five funerals in one week."
