He was a native of Johnson County and resided in Appling County since 1920. He was retired and had worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a former Scout Master and a builder of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of World Wide Church of God.
SURVIVORS: two daughters, Louise xxx of Baxley and Betty Jean xxx of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Al and Johnny , both of Baxley, and Jennings of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Estelle Peavy of Tampa, Fla., Mamie Lee Hicks of Baxley, Edna Sistrunk of Jacksonville and Ethelene Hunter of Atlanta; three brothers, James Sikes of Savannah, John Sikes and Donnie R. Sikes Sr, both of Baxley; 16 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
