She was a member of the American Legion Aux. Post 145 of Frenchville, Sinclair Citizen Club Life time m ember, member of ACAP Board for 4 years, 10 years on the area of Aging Board, 4 years A.P.A.C of ACAP 2 1/2 years as chairperson of the Central Committee of Sinclair. She was a correspondent for St. John Valley Times for Sinclair, Me 'Candy' Corner.
She lived 9 years in Biddeford and Saco, Me. Worked at Pepperell & York. Moved to New Britain, Ct. in 1950. Worked at Landers Frary & Clark & Emhart in New Britain , Ct. She was the first woman Lector in St. Joseph Church in Sinclair, Me to serve on the Board of Directors.
Her father told her 'women did not belong in the sanctuary'. After reading at a Confirmation Mass celebrated by the Bishop her father told everyone 'That's my daughter', he bragged about it for weeks. "My teeth were chattering and I was shaking until II realized that the church attendees were not better than me."
While at High View Manor she was,. Elected President of the Resident Council in 2006, also selected by the State of Maine for the Remember Me program in June of 2009. First Christmas at High View she played the Virgin Mary at Mass, 2nd year she was a Shepherd, 3rd year she was a Christmas Angel , in 2009 she was crowned Queen for Valentines Day.
She is survived by two sons Robert of Madawaska, James of Conn., one daughter Marie Jacqueline M. Baller of Joliet, Il , Eight Grand Children and Seven Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grandchild. One Brother Charlie of Virginia Beach, Va. ,2 sisters Carmelita of Bristol Ct. and Marlene of Ludington, Mi.
She was predeceased by her husband Louis and one daughter Nancy , one brother Aldeo, and three sister Claire, Ted, Penny.
