The deceased was a Civil War veteran serving for four years in Company H, 167th O. V. I.. He was a member of McLaughlin Post and took an active interest in its affairs. Under the Grant administration in 1870, he served as postmaster at Collinsville.
He is survived by his wife; one brother, Albert Morris; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Hogg and Mrs. Harriett DeWitt, of Oxford.
Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Believers in Christ Church, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Engwiler. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
