He was the son of Gordon and Eugena Teeters, born in McMinnville, TN, on Dec. 24, 1942.
Johhny was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was the owner and operator of Maxton Motors for 38 years. He had a passion for buying and selling cars, loved drag racing, fast cars and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Teeters; brother, Quinton Teeters; and sister, Betty Teeters.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Teeters of the home; sons, Johnny G. Teeters Jr. of Texas, Steven W. Teeters and wife Sandra of Hamlet, Kerry Downward and wife Lori of Limerick, Pa.; daughters, Cythia Teeters, Julia Teeters, Lisa Teeters all of Texas; sisters, Julia Wade and Shirley Jennings both of Morrison, Tenn.; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Graveside memorial service with military honors will be on Sunday at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton.
