He was born June 14, 1938 in Logansport, IN to the late Robert Earl & Vera Catherine Bard Patton; and he came to Frostproof from Merritt Island in 2000. He was retired from the Cape Canaveral Space Center and a member of the First Baptist Church in Frostproof. He was previously very active in the Elks Lodge in Cocoa Beach. He enjoyed working in the yard and woodworking; and he loved Nascar and auto racing.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nancy F. Patton; daughter, Teresa Colson of Merritt Island; son, Bobby Patton and wife, Shelley of Maitland; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
