Edward Kruse, 98, formerly of 209 Keller, Bartonville, died at 2:56 p.m. Monday at St.Francis Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1887, in Logan Twp.,Peoria, Illinois, to Hero and Gretje Lauterbach Kruse, he first married Pauline Thielbar on Oct. 23,1912, in Pekin. She died in 1958. Two sons,three sisters and five brothers also preceded him in death.
He married Ola Ann Schuller on Oct.14,1959.She survives along with one daughter, Mrs.Donald (Eleanor) Stone of Toluca; one son Merlin Kruse of Bartonville; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was a plastering contractor in Bartonville for many years, and a member of the board of directors of the Bartonville Bank from 1930-1970. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thrusday at his church, the Rev. Harold Heidegger officiatinf. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Endsley & Son Funeral Home, 1202 Garfield, Bartonville, and one hour before services.
Memorials may be made to the church.
