BEEVILLE - William Roger Baird. 72, of Beeville died at his residence Friday, Dec. 20, 1991. Mr. Baird was born Aug. 17, 1919, in San Gabriel to the late James William and Flora Belle Smith Baird.
He married the former Elsie Ruth Durnal on June 15, 1944, in Corpus Christi. He was a farmer, rancher and retired foreman for Precinct 1, Bee County. He was a Baptist.
Survivors: wife, Elsie Ruth Baird; daughter, Carol Darnell Billings of Corpus Christi; sons, William Michael and James Roger Baird, both of Beeviile; sister, Vallie Schilling of Beeviile; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Hicks, Frank and Melvin Baird. Services 2 p.m. Sunday at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Mac Robinson officiating.
