SOUTH BEND - Alice Pajakowski, 97, of South Bend, IN (formerly of S. Warren Street), passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013, in West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation, South Bend, IN. She was born on January 27, 1916, to the late Ignatius and Mary (Nowak) Pajakowski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Kush, Eleanor Jackowiak, Clementine Suth, Esther Meers; three brothers, Casey, Gene and Ollie Pajakowski; and a great-nephew, Larry Jackowiak.
Alice worked as a cook for over 10 years at the former Carlyle Nursing Home in South Bend, IN. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Alice was a member of St. Adalbert Parish. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation for their wonderful care they provided to Alice. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. today, October 30, 2013, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
