Rebecca was born in Rutland, LaSalle County, Illinois
but her family moved to Grant City, Worth County, Missouri around 1866. In 1885 she married Francis Stockton. They moved to Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri where her husband worked on the railroad. In 1920, they had moved to San Diego. Rebecca was a landlady, Francis a Stationary Engineer in an office building and their son George was a Mechanical Engineer for the Railroad. George unfortunately died a short time later when he drown in a rip tide off of Oceanside, California.

Stockton-At Porterville, Calif., June 1, 1929. Rebecca M. Stockton, wife of Francis M. Stockton of San Diego, and Porterville, Calif., a native of Illinois; aged 64 years.

Friends and members of the Order of Eastern Star and Women's Benefit association are invited to attend the funeral services at the chapel of Johnson-Saum Company. Worth and Ash streets at 2:30 o'clock p.m. today. Tuesday, under auspices of San Diego Chapter, No. 264. O.E.S. Assisted by Rev. W. E. Crabtree. Interment Masonic Cemetery.
